Tennis String Selection: Step 3 - String Price

This section of the string guide from Racquet Technic describes the third stage in helping you to select a tennis string.

This should help you to decide which price range should be suitable for your requirements.

You should then go to Step Four which helps you to select a string.

Selection Hints

The cost of the string is only one factor to take into account. The length of time the string lasts is also important.

You should consider the cost per month or possibly for every 25 hours of play.

String Prices Compared

Group 1 Low

Strings in this group are usually a basic type of construction. They are often a larger gauge to provide extra durability. They would normally be the choice of players who want a low cost string, or those who break strings frequently.

Group 2 - Medium

This should be the price range that is the choice for most players. These strings could either offer better performance or durability. Some of them will be better for both requirements. They offer a good balance between performance and value.

Group 3 - High

This would be your choice if you want the best performance. They would normally be the choice of a limited number of players. You could consider this group if you do not break strings frequently.

Actual Prices

These can vary by large amounts. You can compare prices on many websites, but you could find the prices are higher from shops or racket stringers.
